Field and Stream Magazine seems to capture both ends of the outdoor spectrum. I enjoy the down to basics articles that are paired with those of much higher stature which help the best hunters and fishers improve their interactions with the out-of-doors.
My only criticism is that the more detail, in-depth articles could be expanded to more than a few pages. Other than that, the magazine is a great addition to my home.

Field and Stream Magazine is a wonderful magazine with excellent stories about hunting and fishing. I particularly enjoy the Top Ten Lists, and find them very useful. The stories and information given are much better than other similar magazines.

Field and Stream Magazine isn't just the typical hunting and fishing magazine one might expect. It has inspired me in my hunting and my family's passion for the outdoors has also increased. The magazine covers just about any kind of outdoor hobby you may have and also gives you tips to increase your skills. I personally have found articles associated with deer hunting (white-tails) especially gratifying. The new spring fishing tips seem to be working very well too (just got 2-three pound bass this past weekend at the nearby lake). My wife also enjoys Field and Stream for the articles on fishing and she also uses the recipes included in the magazine as well. Overall, for a magazine covering the outdoors, I give this read an A.

Field and Stream Magazine is a very good magazine if you are into any type of outdoorsman activities. They cover a lot of hunting techniques. They also do reviews on different types of hunting a fishing gear. There are also frequent articles on hunting stories and tips. I really enjoyed the articles on survival in different outdoor climates. I read most of the magazine through out the month but usually by pass the fishing articles because they don't pertain to me. I fish mostly walleyes and most of the articles seemed to be on fish or gear that I don’t use.

As someone who grew up in a camping, hunting, and fishing family a lot of the advice Field and Stream magazine offers is common sense to me. However, I love the blend of revolutionary and classic tactics. Step-by-step guides to things such as emergency kits are a real help, the stories contributed about hunting trips are interesting, and the reviews on gear are unparalleled. If you like the outdoors this subscription is for you.

Field and Stream Magazine is basically a jack-of-all-trades. It does not go into detail and focus on any outdoor pursuit like a specialty magazine (like Bassmasters / Bowhunter, etc) but exposes an outdoorsman to techniques/tactics/adventures relating to all types of hunting and fishing. The photography throughout the magazine is excellent, and the editors show a willingness to add new appealing features, such as a column with a renowned chef regarding wild game cooking. I first subscribed to this magazine in 1985 at 8 years old and am still renewing, so that should tell you something about it.

At times, you may think the writers of Field & Stream magazine know nothing academic about wildlife, but the articles are always fun to read and they offer lots of advice about your outdoor activities. The combination of articles about both hunting and fishing in each magazine make this a great combination! A great read for the hobbyist.
